Welcome!

Hello!

We are an enthusiastic group of students at the University of Guelph trying to make a difference in the world. Our goal is to fill a cargo container with second-hand bicycles and ship it to Windhoek, Namibia by November 1st, 2008. Upon arrival, the container will be transformed into a bicycle shop and a training facility where underprivileged women can gain the skills they need to become bicycle mechanics. Since bikes are an awkward shape and don't fill up a container we are also sending spare parts, soccer jerseys and more! In fact, if you have any suggestions on what we can fill these spaces with, we would love to hear them!

Namibia is a wonderfully peaceful and very young country (only 15 years old) in the southern part of Africa. Its inhabitants are an extremely charming people that come from hundreds of different tribes and there is a large population of wildlife that live freely among the local people. This country is truly a haven in sub-Saharan Africa that is not well known, but B4H is a great opportunity for others to get involved and find out more about this country and its people.

We are in the process of organizing several fundraisers, including a benefit concert in downtown Guelph and a t-shirt selling extravaganza. Here are the most recently updated events that we have planned so that anyone can get involved and find out more about B4H!

Wednesday, March 26th, 9:00pm-2:00am
Benefit concert at the Albion in Downtown Guelph.

Monday, March 31st, 8:30am -5:00pm
Bakesale/buttonsale/t-shirtsale extravaganza in the University Centre in the University of Guelph.

So come check us out during these events! If you can't make these dates, don't worry, we are planning for more in the near future, so keep checking this website for updates!
