Kelowna Mountain Bike Collection

The cost to ship a bicycle is about $30. If you do not have a bike to donate, you can still help by covering this cost for one or more bicycles.

Cash donations may be made at any Interior Savings Credit Union or at St. Charles Garnier Parish on Benvoulin Road next door to the Father Pandosy Mission.

Tax receipts are available upon request.

Only functioning, adult sized mountain bikes or mountain bike parts will be accepted!

The Impact

BEN Namibia has supplied 50 bicycles to the HIV/AIDS home based care program in the village of Okathitu in northern Namibia.

Some of the bicycles will be modified to create bike ambulances. These are already being tested for use by home based caregivers from TKMOAMS, a grassroots volunteer network in Oshakati, northern Namibia.

Silent Auction

A silent auction will be held during the event in order to raise funds to cover the shipping costs of sending the bikes overseas.

In appreciation for those who come out and support the collection, there will be a barbeque for those who are hungry.

Working Order Only Please

It is vital to point out that all bicycle donations must be in working order. This is to ensure that they can be put to use the moment they are unpacked on site. It goes without saying that the availability of spare and replacement parts is limited. Children’s bicycles are of no use to the program.
