For the Love of Dance was held on November 10th 2007 - a phenomenal show with outstanding performers! The proceeds of the event ($800!) were donated to Bicycles for Humanity.

About Anna and Safiya
Anna and Safiya are two Ottawa-Hull based Oriental Dance performers who also teach as a team. While both work by day in the field of scientific research, by night they share their love of Middle Eastern dance, music and culture with audiences and students. Both perform regularly at Middle Eastern weddings, festivals, fundraisers and restaurants.
Anna was introduced to Egyptian dance by Denise Enan. She continued her studies with Shadia, Hala & Safiya. A beautiful dancer in her own right, she was been teaching since 2005 and performs regularly for Arabic and Canadian audiences alike. Her athletic style and precision make her a joy both to watch and to learn from.
Safiya discovered bellydance with Shadia in 2000 and has never looked back. Safiya considers her years of ballet, jazz, modern dance and theater training but stepping stones to the beautiful world of Oriental Dance. She strives to impart to her students the joy, grace and technical complexities of this ever-evolving dance.
