Born and raised in Ireland, Philip has lived, worked and studied in England, France, Spain, Finland, Norway, the U.S. and Canada. Bikes have always been part of his life: riding to school, riding for work, racing at the highest level for a pittance. He has spent more than five years working in the bicycle industry - in Vancouver, B.C.'s premier road shop and for a Canadian distribution company for high end road products and accessories. While there, he was involved in the planning and launch of a new bicycle brand.

He also is a web designer and has completed several bike related websites for bike shops, bike wholesalers and design projects for bike shops. He has also worked extensively in the non-profit sector around issues related to water, indigenous peoples in the Arctic and renewable resource rights.
