A bicycle is universal, everyone understands it's use and why they are needed in developing countries. The Bicycles for Humanity movement gains speed in so many ways driven by a foundation of entrepreneurship and caring. With no overhead or administration, a model of simplicity and empowerment, it simply just keeps growing. A BEC can carry bicycles, but since they ship on volume and not weight, and with a lot of room inside a container, we can carry a lot of items for other groups to Africa, just as a bicycle can carry a lot of things. Great organizations and interest groups approach us every day to help solve other problems and we encourage this interaction with our chapter leaders here and in Africa. In today's globally connected, web based world, the technologies exist to bring groups together to solve many problem s and gain greater efficiencies and value for all globally. Strategic Alliances really fall into 3 key areas, Bicycle Collection and BEC Funding, Added Value and Special Interest, Corporate Lift and Awareness.

Bicycle Collection and BEC Funding

When a chapter decides to organize a collection, there are many groups that naturally align with this, schools, church's and civic groups like Rotary are all naturals. There are also many other organizations that are on the fringe of what we do, but can easily allign to help out, if they believe in the cause. This section will identify groups that are interested in helping us collect and send more bikes to Africa

Pitch in Canada is an organization that across the country helps keep our parks and public areas clean. They collect many bikes and the idea of Bicycles for Humanity Chapters in partnership with Pitch in Canada organizing cleanups and collections on the same weekend, will simply help not only gain access to more bikes, but to people to help make it happen. All Bicycle for Humanity chapters and their heads are listed on our website and we encourage local organizers to begin communicating and finding ways to work together, teamwork, benefits all.
